Splashing sounds
Luke’s journey along this well-trodden path had become a ritual, a comforting routine that he indulged in countless times. This path, his chosen route, meandered past an intriguing, dilapidated house that had always captured his imagination. On numerous occasions, curiosity had led him to explore its forgotten corners, sneaking in through a breach in the perimeter.
This time was no different, or so he thought, until he approached the house and was greeted by an unexpected and startling noise. A loud, echoing splash emanated from the well situated prominently in the unkempt front yard, disrupting the silence and piquing his curiosity even further.
