Former NFL Player Tony Hutson Has Passed Away

Tony Hutson, a former NFL player has died at the age of 49. The professional football community is mourning the sudden death of this former guard for the Dallas Cowboys. The NFL player spent six seasons in the NFL and four of those seasons were with the Dallas Cowboys.

A Funeral service provider shared an obituary and mentioned that he was just 49. However, the cause of death has not been confirmed yet. Hudson was born in 1974 and made his NFL debut in 1996 with the Cowboys. After playing four seasons for the Cowboys he started playing with the Washington Commanders and Oakland Raiders. Later he retired from professional football in 2001.

Hutson’s former Cowboys teammate Randall Godfrey shared a tribute to Hutson. He wrote, “Lost one of my favorite teammates and great friends in Tony Hutson. Please keep the Hutson family in your prayers. Our 1996 Dallas Cowboys rookies had a special bond. He made several trips to Valdosta to help with my annual football camps. I cherished every moment that he had me crying after laughing so hard.”

The heartfelt tribute also reflected their close friendship. The linebacker mentioned, “One of my fishing buddies and much more. I just knew we would be connecting soon. You caught us off guard with this one. Take your rest my bother…Gone too soon.”

Hutson had a daughter Lauren Benton and two sons Christian Benton and Antonio Fleming. The NFL star was suffering from a health scare for a long time. His health issue ended his career before it began. But his contribution to the NFL will be remembered all the time.

Previously in an interview, Hutson said, “My first thought was I would never get to play football anymore,” he also said, “But then I thought there’s more to life than football. I just wanted to live my life. I talked to my mom about it and prayed about it.”

Then he added, “While I was lying in my hospital bed, recovering from surgery, I got a call from my agent who had talked to Dallas,” He continued. “So, we decided to sign with the Cowboys. It’s great to be with a winning team.”
