Tiger Woods’ Son Charlie Woods Will Try To Qualify For PGA Tour Event

To make the field for his first PGA Tour Tiger Woods’ 15-year-old son Charlie Woods will attempt in a pre-qualifier event. Charlie is eagerly waiting to participate in the PGA Tour which is going to start next week.

Charlie won a state championship with his Palm Beach high school golf teammates. He is practicing in Hobe Sound, Florida. According to the PGA Tour website, it is one of four pre-qualifying sites. Charlie needs to advance from the pre-qualifier to qualify for the PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic.

The PGA Tour announced that four qualifiers will advance from the final event in the Cognizant Classic field. If Charlie can qualify, it would be his first PGA Tour. His father was a renowned golfer and has won 82 PGA Tour event titles. For most of most events, Tiger tied with the late Sam Snead. He played his first professional event in 1992 when he was a 16-year-old amateur.

 

In 2021, Tiger Woods said that the PGA Tour video crew showed him a compilation video. In this video, they presented how similar the pair are on the course. At that time Tiger Woods said, “He is his own person. That’s one of the things that we made sure of that Charlie is Charlie,” He also added, “I am proud of whatever direction he chooses.”

Charlie Woods and his legendary father won a state championship together. They also played together at the PGA Tour’s annual PNC Championship tournament. The father-son duo becomes one of the major-winning golfers who team up with a family member. Because they competed four times at the event which is quite enjoyable to golf lovers.

The television broadcasts also showed the similarity of the father and son’s playing styles. They mentioned that the pair’s distinct golf mannerisms are strikingly similar. 

Aside from winning a state championship, Woods and his legendary father have played together at the PGA Tour’s annual PNC Championship tournament. The father-son duo have competed four times at the event which sees past major-winning golfers team up with a family member.

Throughout their four PNC Championship appearances, television broadcasts showed how strikingly similar the pair’s distinct golf mannerisms are. So, the golf world is waiting to enjoy the new charm of Charlie Woods on the golf field.
