This summer Arsenal midfielder Jorginho will be a free agent. Because his contract expires and may like to accept a contract. A host of Italian clubs are monitoring his situation. At the same time, the Gunners have yet to offer him a new deal. His agent also hints that he will quit the Gunners and team up with his former manager.

Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos mentioned that his current deal runs out at the end of the season. Santos claimed that top Italian clubs are keeping a close eye on him. He mentioned that clubs like Juventus, Lazio, and Jorginho’s ex-club Napoli showed interest in him. Santos said, “Jorginho would suit Lazio more, for the presence of coach [Maurizio] Sarri who already knows his characteristics very well. But also Juve, who have a great director of sport like Cristiano Giuntoli, who he spent many years with at Napoli. I would not rule out a return to Napoli with new coach [Francesco] Calzona, who used to work with Sarri before that.”

Jorginho was back in the Premier League. After providing player-of-the-match performance he said in an interview, “It was a special day. The supporters, they were behind us and we could feel it and it was just an amazing, amazing football match and an amazing day for us.”

The midfielder added, “It was really hard work if we didn’t do that – we couldn’t win for sure. We knew we had to push the limit to beat them because they are a great team and that’s what we did and I think we deserved the win.”

He also praised the supporters and said it was now time to enjoy a memorable victory. He said, ”They’ve been there for us for a long time now and all we try to do is to give it back, and we push ourselves to the limit and we try, try to make them happy the way they support us, because they deserve it, and today everyone was happy.”

He continued, “We should enjoy this moment as well, we need to think about the next one but at the moment we need to enjoy this moment because that’s how it is I think, you focus on the next one the day from tomorrow.”

Manager Mikel Arteta said about Jorginho’s situation, “I’m really happy with him that’s all I can say. When we imagined what he could bring to the team, he’s doing exactly that and maybe even better. The contract situation is more for Edu and the board to manage. But his implication and his capacity to affect big matches is great.”

However, Jorginho himself is not thinking about his future right now. He mentioned, “I don’t know, I am trying to enjoy the moment, to be honest,” he said. “We haven’t spoken about it [my contract] and I just want to win games with Arsenal.”
