Teenage football stars like Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi are now drawing the attention of football leaders. Recently Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez also praised teenage stars Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi about their performance. He said that they could go on to ‘define an era’ of world football.

Yamal dazzled against Brazil in a recent match with Spain while Cubarsi made his debut for La Roja against Colombia. They both become key pillars of Barcelona. Yamal is Spain’s youngest-ever player. On the other hand, 17-year-old Cubarsi is the youngest defender to play for his country.

Xavi shared in a recent news conference, “They have to maintain their level — Barca is the highest rung of world football,” He also said, “Many have arrived (at elite level), but maintaining it is very difficult, but they can, they have everything, the mentality, the capacity, I think we’re looking at two players who can define an era at the club, and even in world football.”

Xavi mentioned Yamal as ‘very calm’ and mature for his age, despite exploding into the limelight.” He also added, “On a mental level I see him as a happy kid, a joker, he’s enjoying it more and more, I see he is happy,”

Barcelona is going to participate next game in the Champions League. It will be Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital. Xavi said, “I’m more worried about (Las Palmas) than the game against PSG, which is a fair few days away. We’re focused on tomorrow, it’s vital to gain three points to put more pressure on Real Madrid.”

So, it can be understood that Barcelona has ‘big expectations’ about teenage stars. Especially for Yamal and Cubarsi. Now the time will show whether they can meet the expectations or not. We just can enjoy the brilliant performance of the teenage football stars on the field.
